Jacqui Thorpy, a 20-year-old junior from Scarsdale, N.Y., is CEO of TeenFX.com, a community Web site for teenagers that she started at age 14. When she arrived at CMU as a computer science major two years, she considered giving the one-woman project up, fearing it would take too much time. But Jack Roseman, a professor at the university's entrepreneurship program, urged her to keep it up - and offered to design her education around it. If Shawn Fanning is the purest and most celebrated example of this precociousness in a culture ripe to exploit it, Jacqui Thorpy is on her way there.
